C.O.D. Protests The Protect IP Act

Personally, I am sick and tired of the United States government meddling more and more in our lives.  The movie and music industry is using our elected officials like puppets (muppets) and we are sitting idly by and letting it happen.  Well, I signed the petition, and my voice will be heard next election.  G.R.I.P. – Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians.  If we really want to make changes, we have to get those that pander to big business out of office and let them know that we have the power to do it.  After all, they are there to represent Read More…

Samsung is doing a good job at hyping us up for their Galaxy S II Android powered smart phone.  The Galaxy S II is impossibly thin at just 8.49 mm and still manages to pack a 4.3" Super AMOLED screen.  Meanwhile, the thin design doesn't look like it will inhibit processing power as the phone comes with  a Dual Core processor accompanied by 16/32GB of memory.  With all the excitement surrounding the second iteration of the Galaxy phone, I can only hope that the cell phone carriers will not cripple this as they did with the first series... cough... Verizon / AT&T... cough.

I really had high hopes for the latest version of Firefox, so much so that I sat and dealt with the same problems from the previous version waiting for an update to fix it.  Firefox has come a long way since it debuted, but sometimes that road ahead can actually lead you backwards.  With the slurry of new features present in Firefox 4, and even 3 for that matter, the project has failed to address one of the most problematic issues, memory usage.

I have news for you, the days of large computers taking up your desk, floor, or entertainment center are long gone.  A lot of case manufacturers have made good money making small form factor PC enclosures and the seeming limited motherboard supply is catching up.  Some PC manufacturers have already started to take advantage of the newer technology and have released products that not only perform on par with today's standard desktops, they look great and they take up very little space too.  Low Carbon PC aims to take this one step further by putting together eco-friendly systems that use little power but deliver big on performance, while looking rather stylish at the same time.  If Low Carbon PC is able to deliver on all of these, then your trips to the computer store to buy individual components may be coming to an end.

For all of the guitar players out there who share my frustration with current guitar games, Ubisoft is promising to help us out. Anyone who plays guitar, for obvious reasons, seems to struggle a bit with Rock Band and/or Guitar Hero. The problem being, one of the biggest parts of actually playing guitar is the feel of the guitar. Holding a little piece of plastic and tapping away mercilessly at buttons can get a little boring.

I have always considered Thermaltake to be one of the premier manufacturers of cases and cooling products; even though I haven't always been a fan of all of their products.  With the loud design of many products entering the market today, it seems that there has been a lack of balance between the design and the function, whereas the function doesn't say as much about the performance as the appearance does.  Thermaltake thinks they can regain some of my confidence by enticing me, the enthusiast, with a CPU cooler that claims it can do the job and looks like it should be able to without the zany design elements some have chosen to opt for over functionality.

People have different needs for different things, and if your need is to display a simple RSS feed in your theme; there is an easy way to do it... without plugins.  There are a lot of plugins out there for displaying an RSS feed, but many of them actually over complicate things.  Believe it or not, you already have the ability to parse an RSS feed.  Until recently, I had been utilizing RSSImport to accomplish my simple feed requirements, but the fewer plugins we run on our sites, the better.
