Play .MKV’s in Windows Media Center (WMC)

For a long time I had resisted converting my DVD and Blu-Ray disks into any other format because I didn’t want to lose any quality.  I had lived by this rule for a long time, and thankfully companies like QNAP and Thecus came to my storage rescue.  However, the day has come where the cost of storing all the extra garbage that comes along with these movies has opened my eyes to benefits conversions.  With that, I have began converting my movie collection to a format that allows me to lose all the excess fat, but keep my movie loss-less. The New iPad

The new iPad offers high improvements that individuals can take advantage of, but whether they really need such improvements is another topic altogether. The new iPad offers an important element, better pixels that keeps it at the top today, as compared to the iPad 2 or any other tablet available in the market.

Look, we all know and realize that Windows is the superior operating system to anything else out there.  With that said, I am going to detail ten reasons why this is the case and offer supporting data.  Some of this may be shocking to you if you are a user of another operating system, but please... don't feel inferior.

itunes-ringtones-00

Admit it, you want some cool ringtones on your phone but you don't want to pay for them.  It also sucks that Apple wants to charge you a buck for a 30 second sound file.  There is some good news for you; you don't have to pay for ringtones any more.

I can't help it, there are just some things I can't get enough of. One of those things is Angry Birds! If you are an Android, iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch user and you have the Angry Birds application installed, and you are wondering how to get all the golden eggs... Look no further. I, for one, cannot consider something completed until I have all the secrets revealed. In the previous article (Angry Birds Golden Egg Walkthrough) we covered eggs 1-15... and so here are 16 and 17! Firefox-zooming-00

I have had an annoying problem that I just realized I had.  Sometimes, when I am quick clicking through websites or testing on this one, I tend to hit some buttons rather quickly.  Sometimes, they close my windows and other times have no effect.  Well, one time, I accidentally zoomed in on this site with Firefox and never realized that I did so. Apple-DaylightSavings

Another debacle by an increasingly annoying company has made me late for work today.  It seems that Apple has neglected to fix a bug with its iOS operating system that ignores the Daylight Savings time changes in its alarm application.  (more...)

If anyone knows me, they know I play with things for no reason, that is my nature.  With that said, whenever I find something that I haven't used, haven't heard of, or could find any reason whatsoever to try, I will.  That is the case with Google voice.  Google voice is not new to many, but it is to me.  This pseudo telephony service has been available to many people for some time... since they took over GrandCentral in 2007, but they announced the service will be available to EVERYONE for free not too long ago. Open mouth, insert foot! Ok, after years of being one to point out plenty of Mac problems and faults to everyone I know, I have finally found a reason to buy one.   I have been building and using HTPC's for years and it took some time to find the hardware and software I was comfortable with.  Setting things up like my iMon Remote proved to be fun, but useless.  The hardware, the OS, and all that stuff cost me nearly the same price as the new Mac.  So, what has changed? I am not one to take jabs at companies... wait... WHO AM I KIDDING?!?!?!? I love jabbing companies! Well anyway, as I was saying... Lately companies have really been surprising me with some of their antics. My rants stretch back from AOL to Microsoft and today the latest crazy chicken on the chopping block is Apple, again. This time, they are refusing to sell you an iPad! (more...)
