Thermaltake Tsunami Aluminum Chassis – VA3000SWA

One of my favorite features of this case has to be the removable floppy drive rack and removable HDD rack. The floppy rack is not much different then that used by Tt and many other companies in the past. It implements the same latch design we have come to see in many popular cases; installation and removal are as easy as it can be. I do like the fact that they fitted this rack with mounting holes for a HDD in the bottom, but for completeness I would have liked for them to do the same with the top portion as I am one of those users that doesn’t own a floppy drive and would like to mount two hard drives here so I can remove the bottom rack and mount a radiator and a pump. (I have plans for this case, after all, it is named TSUNAMI!!!)

The difference here lies mainly in their HDD rack. The HDD rack is this case’s best and worst feature. Ok, first, it is a great idea! But, the rack is extremely thin and its placement can make for some tricky installations as you will see later on. The plusses are evident as soon as you look at it. The rack is held in place by a thumb latch and a single screw. As you would have guessed, removing it is simple; the same goes for putting it back. All the mounting holes are adorned with grommets to reduce noise and vibrations from your high speed drives. Tt also provides enough thumb screws to mount hard drives in every slot of this rack (which I did!!)
