Play .MKV’s in Windows Media Center (WMC)

For a long time I had resisted converting my DVD and Blu-Ray disks into any other format because I didn’t want to lose any quality.  I had lived by this rule for a long time, and thankfully companies like QNAP and Thecus came to my storage rescue.  However, the day has come where the cost of storing all the extra garbage that comes along with these movies has opened my eyes to benefits conversions.  With that, I have began converting my movie collection to a format that allows me to lose all the excess fat, but keep my movie loss-less. The other thing I really like about this utility is its ease of use, it is very user friendly. You don’t need a lot of technical knowledge to get the most out of it. You can be up and running with everything you use frequently in a matter of minutes. I installed it, and had everything I needed together in less than 15 minutes.

The only drawback (if you want to call it that... I’ll leave your opinion up to you) is that it reminds me a lot of a Mac  application; it looks and feels just like the navigator bar at the bottom of the screen on the Mac OS. If you’re familiar with what I’m referring to, then this will just be that much easier for you to use.

Altogether, I would recommend this to anyone. This is a concise tool that has much worth to just about anyone. The utility can be found at http://www.rocketdock.com.

Joe DiFiglia: RocketDock is extremely customizable.  The various themes and icon settings allow you to create your own feel.  Adding applications to the dock is as simple as dragging your icon to the dock.  RocketDock allows me to have more usable desktop space as I hate using the start menu and I am tired of cluttering my desktop with shortcuts.

RocketDock is developed by an Apple fanboy and fangirl on OS X.

Consider it a peace offering from the Mac Community to you.

Together we can end OS persecution. :)

Enjoy!

I think rocketdock is a very solid piece of software. I just wish it would display the windows I have open this is why I use objectdock instead. I do think that rocketdock looks prettier and runs smoother though.
