As stated, the Seagate Pro NAS is a sleek and stylish, yet sinister and industrial looking piece of modern storage equipment. The NAS itself is somewhat of a departure from what we see in the high-end storage playground. Instead of metal or aluminum shells, we have a NAS with the primary ingredient plastic. The front of the NAS is reflective while the sides, bottom, and back are matte finish.
Up front, the NAS Pro features a backlit LCD display panel with an up and down arrow button for basic on-screen configuration, 6 removable drive trays and a slew of LEDs for each of them, Power, and an OTB button along with its front facing USB 3.0 port. The upper right features a bland Seagate logo. This NAS truly looks like it means business. The buttons are not raised or recessed.

Each of the removable drive trays are manufactured completely from plastic. The drives are held in place by plastic nubs and the front release is simple. There are no drive locks, the drive trays slide in smooth, and they are finished beautifully. Unfortunately, the release mechanism feels extremely flimsy and seems to wiggle around when releasing or inserting the drives. With that in mind, I figured I would release and insert one of the drives twice a day for the 40+ days I had this NAS in the shop for review to see if it would fail. It didn’t. The drives are numbered along the bottom should you see an indication that one failed or an error occurred and needed some assistance locating which it is.
If you haven’t guessed, the models offered with disks sport Seagate NAS drives. This 24TB version is outfitted with six of their 4TB flavor (ST 400VN000). In our recent review of the drives, they performed spectacularly and provided some of the best longevity specifications on the market.
Around back, the NAS is all business. Here you will single noctua NF-P12 120mm cooling fan providing 46.23 CFM of airflow through the chassis, a single USB 3.0 Port, USB 2.0 Port, dual Ethernet Ports, the power receptacle, and a reset button used to restore your NAS to factory fresh.
