Even though I am a big fan of the UEFI (unified extensible firmware interface) BIOS, ASRock leaves me unimpressed. Don’t get me wrong, everything you need is in there (and then some) from a functional perspective, but it just looks cold and like it fell out of an insert from a Special Edition TRON BD. This is two in a row for me. The ASUS Z97-AR was a little hard to look at, and this one is a bit too “Mr. Freeze” for me.
Unlike others, there is no simple mode for the novice. Instead, you are thrust into a tweaker’s madness.
