Essential Windows 7 Tweaks: Part 3

14. Disable Sticky / Filter keys

I like to play games sometimes… with that, some games allow you to map keys and I love the shift key… it’s nice and big.  However, nothing annoys me more than having a pop up in the middle of my game for Sticky Keys.  Disable them.

  1. Open Control Panel and select Ease of Access
  2. Select Change how your keyboard works
  3. From here you can configure you sticky and filter key settings.

Even though Sticky keys may be disabled, for a test, press the shift key 5 times to see that you still need to make some configuration changes to completely disable.

  1. You know how you view a folder in details mode, the columns are squished by default and it leaves this useless white space on the right? When I right click the top columns it allows me to automatically resize all columns to fit. The problem is I have to do this for every folder manually. Is there a way to have it to that by default? Some sort of registry hack?
