For a long time I had resisted converting my DVD and Blu-Ray disks into any other format because I didn’t want to lose any quality. I had lived by this rule for a long time, and thankfully companies like QNAP and Thecus came to my storage rescue. However, the day has come where the cost of storing all the extra garbage that comes along with these movies has opened my eyes to benefits conversions. With that, I have began converting my movie collection to a format that allows me to lose all the excess fat, but keep my movie loss-less. Read More…
I can better be classified as more of a PlayStation fan than an XBOX 360 fan, mainly because I don't like to pay to play. However, there are still some things that makes the XBOX an integral part of my entertainment center. Firstly, its application list and UI is more attractive and user friendly than that of the PlayStation 3. The unfortunate part of the XBOX's strengths is that it requires Gold membership. Well, thankfully, Microsoft has loosened its reigns and plans on giving the "rest" of us some candy.
Are you annoyed with having your 18 hour WOW sessions interrupted because you have to go to school or to work? Worry not, the fine developer known as Jean-Sebastien Royer has your solution. That is if you’re willing to drop $5.04. This is a remote desktop app that’s made to do one thing and one thing only, play PC games. At this moment the app does have its bugs and if you go into your purchase knowing that, then I think you’ll be fine. Even at this stage it’s an impressive app with a whole laundry list of features and is highly customizable. Hopefully that will get enough initial support to allow/motivate the developer to improve on the app and correct the issues people are having, like not truly supporting tablets and other small issues like that.
For all of the guitar players out there who share my frustration with current guitar games, Ubisoft is promising to help us out. Anyone who plays guitar, for obvious reasons, seems to struggle a bit with Rock Band and/or Guitar Hero. The problem being, one of the biggest parts of actually playing guitar is the feel of the guitar. Holding a little piece of plastic and tapping away mercilessly at buttons can get a little boring.
It’s finally here; Michael Jackson: The Experience has been released for the Xbox 360’s Kinect, and it does not disappoint. Grab your fedora and your sequined glove, and get ready as we bring you a first glance at this title.
The folks at EA seem to be milking the Need for Speed series for all it's worth lately. Shift 2: Unleashed is touted as the most realistic racing simulation to date. This title absolutely lives up to that hype, but not without it's quirks. Gentlemen, start your engines...
I can't help it, there are just some things I can't get enough of. One of those things is Angry Birds! In my younger days, cough cough.. !NURSE!!, cough cough, I would game like there was no tomorrow. There was no Microsoft Office, there was no Quickbooks, Open Office, or LANDesk. There was Unreal Tournament, NFS, Quake, Battlefield, C.O.D. (not this website). My desk was a war zone, my office was a LAN party, and my friends were my comrades fighting battles on my self hosted gaming server. Read More...

There is a new category of computer user out there that I am discovering. I have been well aware of the uber geek that accepts nothing more than maxing out their credit cards on the top of the line peripherals and equipment, and I have been versed in the practices of the novice as well. New to me is what has been defined as "the normal person." Until recently, I haven't been lucky enough to meet many of these, but today I have... and they wanted a set of speakers for their computer that wouldn't break the bank but didn't sound like they were listening to music through a jar of peanut butter either. So, you are normal... or you know someone who is and they need speakers for their computer. What do you get? Eagle thinks they have the answer. Read More...
If you've paid any attention whatsoever to the PC industry, you will recognize the name Logitech®. Long synonymous with quality PC products, Logitech has stepped up the push to broaden its' appeal. You can find Logitech products integrated into just about every facet of personal and business computing today. Keyboards, mice, speakers, headphones, etc. are all encompassed by the retail line manufactured at Logitech. One item I need to mention is the marketing of the headset is, obviously, geared towards the gamer hence the name of the headset. However, those who delight in the audio splendor that is Moby or prefer watching SAW on their PC to spongebob on the telly need not feel neglected. Anyone seeking to enjoy a little solitude from the buzz of the homestead can benefit from these little gems. Gee, does that mean I can have my cake and eat it too? Yes, Jimmy, it sure does. Before we get into that though, let's take a look at the nuts and bolts, shall we? Here are the specs straight from the horses' a.., I mean mouth.
