Based on everything you get with the GX700, it is hard to deny that Antec has put together a great case. The military inspired chassis appeals to our inner frag specialist while its price point appeals to our wallet. The GX700 does a fine job of bringing a high quality case into the market at a great price.
The plentiful cooling options presented ensures that your system can withstand some serious gaming sessions. Having room for larger video cards and super PSUs gives you some leg room when it comes to upgrading. The hard drive trays are sturdy and having five of them at your disposal is a storage junkie’s dream. Add some fans to the front of the GX700 and you can bet that your HDDs and system will keep cool under pressure.
This case is high on my radar but it does have a few issues. The only things holding this case back from getting top honors are the large MADE IN CHINA stamped right in the middle of the back, the ability to only control 4 of the 6 fans you can have installed through the top mounted fan controller, and the lack of motherboard standoff stamping. The MADE IN CHINA stamp and the lack of standoff stamping aren’t, at their essence, design issues… they are more like annoyances. Other than that, nothing but good things.
If you are in the market for a new case, rest assured that this one should be on the short list. The GX700 is a great value and easy to look at. The price ($59.99), the styling, and the build quality (outside of the items mentioned above) are all top notch. I would expect nothing less from Antec. Now… go get your frag on.
